Cowboys are still here in New Mexico, some real and some just like the look. Levis are the common attire for both men and women (and children) and you'll see many cowboy hats, belt buckles, and boots on New Mexicans including on Native Americans. The cowboy look is common in homes as well. Along with the adobe style of architecture many homes are built in the "traditional" style of a ranch house. Real cowboys, who work some of the remaining large ranches in New Mexico are actually few and far between but their vocabulary and attire abound. There are rodeos in New Mexico at times, usually associated with the NM State Fair. Country music and dancing are the rage in New Mexico.
