Sitting close to the Western border of NM with Arizona about two thirds of the way up the state, Gallup is the Southern gateway to the Navajo Nation. It is also very close to the Zuni and Acoma Pueblos to the East. Acomo (Sky City) is the oldest continuously inhabited city in the USA.

Grants is a small town East of Gallup near a uranium mine on the Navajo Reservation.
